The Past Few Days...

I hate that I have not been able to update the blog with any vacation photos, but I do have a good excuse. Monday afternoon my stomach started to really bother me. I actually ended up coming in from the beach early that day because I just didn't feel quite right. Turns out, I made the right decision to come in because the minute I got to the house I got very sick. I couldn't keep down any food all day Tuesday or Wednesday. Wednesday we decided to go to a doctor to see if he could at least give me something to help the nausea. At this point I was not keeping down anything and was becoming very dehydrated. The doctor thought it could be my appendix but gave me 2 antibiotics that he hoped would stop the infection before it got bad enough for surgery. He also gave me a shot of phenegren to help the nausea. After the doctors appointment I came back to the house and slept so hard (thanks to the phenegren) but got sick again right when I woke up. I was so bummed! This morning I woke up and we decided that if I got sick one more time, then we would head to the ER. At this point I was showing every sign of appendicitis and we were worried about a possible rupture. Well, sure enough I got sick tonight around 8 and we decided to go on in to the hospital. They gave me morphine for the pain and some zofran for the nausea. I was feeling good! Ha! The doctor also suspected appendicitis but ordered a cat scan to confirm. Well, we got the results about 30 minutes later and it was NOT my appendix! We are so happy! He thinks I just have a very bad viral stomach flu. Also, the antibiotics that the doctor gave me yesterday are known to make people nauseated. Not a good combination!
I am back at the house and in bed now and hopefully rounding the corner on this whole thing. I remember telling my mom on Tuesday morning that I had never been so sick! I am praying that not taking the antibiotics, in addition to a bland diet will get me back on track. It has been a real bummer being so sick on vacation. I have missed out on so much, so I am hoping I will wake up in the morning and feel good as new!
So, that explains the lack of blogging. I have taken lots of pictures though, and will have a post up soon. For now, I am just going to focus on eating crackers and drinking clear liquids ;)

You should have tried the oysters! They were the best thing I ate on our Savannah trip - soooo good! Not gamey at all because they're cooked. :)

Hope you're feeling better!
